Sharon Larson - First Aid & Care For Your Pets™

Sharon Larson started working in high school as a kennel person and never looked back. She’s been grooming professionally at the same vet clinic since 1986; started training dogs professionally in 2003; has been an Advanced Canine Kinaesthetics Specialist since 2005 and has been a Pet Tech First Aid Instructor since 2006.

She leads a parallel life in wildlife also as she has degrees in wildlife management/biology and holds an advanced wildlife rehabilitation permit.

Sharon & her husband live off-the-grid in a solar home in the middle of a state forest in Northern Wisconsin with 7 dogs and 1 cat.

First Aid & Care For Your Pets™ -This four-hour training is taught by lecture, demonstration and hands-on skill practice. Pet owners will learn the necessary skills and techniques to help their pet in a medical emergency. Including: the ABCs of pet first aid, CPR, rescue breathing, restraint/muzzling, choking management, bleeding protocols, injury and wellness assessments, heat and cold injuries, poisoning, putting together a pet first aid kit, establishing a relationship with your vet and much more. Dr. Christine Woodford & Katie Nosbisch, CCRP – PetWellness: New Approaches to Health and Healing

Dr. Woodford graduated Summa Cum Laude from Creighton University in Omaha, NE in 1994 with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Chemistry. She then received a Master of Science in Organic Chemistry from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1996. In 2002, Dr. Woodford graduated with honors from Iowa State University and received her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine.

Kelly Johnson & Robin MacFarlane – Cash in On Fun!  Motivating your clients to do better with their dogs.

Kelly Johnson is from Rochester, MN. She has always felt a connection with animals, especially dogs. After high school, she received a 2 year Associates of Liberal Arts degree from Rochester Community and Technical Collage. Then, she decided to pursue her interest in dogs and attended National K9 School for Dog Trainers in the fall of 2008. She graduated from their Master Trainer program and became a Certified Professional Trainer. Kelly then started her own dog training business in Rochester. She continued her education by attending workshops and learned of That’s My Dog! Kelly attended the April 2010 E-cademy program and became certified in remote collar training. She enjoys spending time with her dog Ollie. Kelly joined the staff of That’s My Dog! June 2010.
Robin MacFarlane is the Owner and Training Director of That’s My Dog!, Inc. She also heads the TMD E-cademy, a continuing education program for dog training professionals. Robin began training dogs in the early ’90s while she worked as a veterinary technician and hospital manager. Over the past 15 years Robin has practiced her belief in continuing education by studying with other accomplished canine professionals as well as attending workshops, seminars and other professional dog training academies.

She is a regular guest speaker at several universities, including The University of Wisconsin, Madison. Robin has also served as an advisor and instructor to various police k9 units as well as committees dealing with the issues of breed-specific legislation. Much of her time is spent traveling throughout the U.S. and Canada presenting workshops on canine behavior and training. Robin is known for her eye in reading dogs, her clear ability to explain and demonstrate techniques as well as her fair and patient instruction of both canine and human alike.

Elizabeth McDonald – E-quipment update – What’s happening in electronic equipment.

Elizabeth McDonald  She worked with greyhounds in Dubuque before moving to Birmingham , AL in 1992 to run a greyhound kennel. She then returned to Dubuque in 1995 to work in the Surveillance department at Dubuque Greyhound Park & Casino. In 1999 she brought her first dog, Ike, to Robin for Puppy Preschool at That’s My Dog! Always wanting to be around and helping with dogs Elizabeth was brought on board as the office manager. When not at That’s My Dog! Elizabeth enjoys spending time with her husband Bryan, daughter Mary, and their three dogs Ike, Lulu and Sugar. Elizabeth joined the staff of That’s My Dog! in June 2007.
